Storm glass, also known by its English name storm glass, is a decorative barometer in the shape of a drop, within which white crystals form inside the closed globe. The globe is made of clear glass and measures 12 x 6 cm, making it easily fit on a desk, shelf, dresser, or windowsill. The appearance of the crystals changes over the days – sometimes the liquid is almost clear, while at other times fine flakes settle at the bottom or crystals resembling hoarfrost grow within the globe. These changes are related to fluctuations in temperature and weather, which is why the storm glass is traditionally used as a decorative weather indicator. The overall effect is light and airy, making it suitable for modern, Scandinavian, or classic interiors.
The globe stands on a wooden base, which provides stability and contrasts nicely with the transparent glass. The total height including the base is approximately 13.7 cm, and the base is about 6.5 cm wide. The crystals are permanently sealed inside the globe, so they are not manipulated, and one only needs to observe how their appearance gradually changes. According to the seller, several typical states can be distinguished, such as clear liquid during warming, small flakes during rain or snowfall, and dense crystals during cold or stormy weather. Each change is slightly different, making the storm glass offer a continually new perspective.

To clean the glass, a dry or slightly damp soft cloth is sufficient, and it is advisable to protect the wooden base from water.
The drop-shaped storm glass is an original home accessory that combines decoration with the observation of an interesting natural phenomenon. The clear globe measuring 12 x 6 cm on a wooden base will adorn the living room, study, bedroom, and office. The transformations of the crystals provide a different view each day and often become a delightful topic of conversation with visitors. Due to its compact size, the storm glass can easily be placed on smaller surfaces. It also makes a great gift for weather enthusiasts, science lovers, and those who appreciate unusual decorations.
