Self-Watering Pot with Wick and Water Reservoir Measuring 11.5 x 10 cm with Removable Inner Container and Ribbed Shell

Water from the lower reservoir rises through the wick to the substrate, allowing the plant to take up moisture on its own, so watering is only needed occasionally. The inner container can be removed at any time. Full description

Overview
Self-Watering Pot with Wick and Water Reservoir Measuring 11.5 x 10 cm with Removable Inner Container and Ribbed Shell

The self-watering pot consists of two plastic parts: the outer container, which serves as a water reservoir, and the inner container with substrate and plant. The inner part sits on the edge of the reservoir with its top rim and is lowered inside, so there is free space between the bottom of the upper part and the water level, preventing the roots from sitting directly in the reservoir. A wick leads down from the bottom of the inner container, which absorbs water from the reservoir and gradually transfers it to the substrate, allowing the roots to take up moisture as needed and preventing the soil from drying out completely between waterings. The whole unit measures 11.5 cm in height and 10 cm in diameter, making it occupy only a small space on the windowsill, shelf, or work desk and it fits among other containers in a set. The shell of the outer container is vertically ribbed around the perimeter, giving it a textured appearance and improving grip when the pot is moved from the windowsill to the sink and back.

  • Water reservoir at the bottom – the lower space of the container holds enough water for an extended period, ensuring the plant does not go without water even on days when it is not watered, eliminating the need for daily moisture checks of the substrate.
  • Wick between water and substrate – a cord leading from the bottom of the inner container down into the water distributes moisture through capillary action, keeping the substrate evenly moist and preventing alternating between over-saturation and complete dryness as with top watering.
  • Removable inner container – the upper part can be removed in one upward motion, allowing water to be added directly to the reservoir, and during repotting, only the plant and its substrate need to be handled.
  • Size 11.5 x 10 cm – the low cylindrical container fits on a narrow windowsill, between books on a shelf, or on the corner of a work desk next to a keyboard, where a taller container would be in the way.
  • Vertically ribbed shell – the regular grooves around the perimeter create a textured surface that is easier to hold and does not slip even when carried with one hand or when turning the plant towards the light.
  • Flat bottom without feet – the container rests on the surface with its entire base, ensuring it stands firmly even on a smooth tabletop or narrow windowsill and does not wobble when adding water.
  • Smooth washable plastic – the walls can be wiped with a damp cloth, and when changing the substrate, both the inner part and the reservoir can be rinsed with water without special agents and without scrubbing.

Contents of the package:

  • 1x self-watering pot

This lightweight plastic pot is suitable for houseplants on a windowsill, in an office, or in a room where daily watering is not feasible, and it is also useful during shorter absences. Before planting, it is advisable to check that the wick hangs freely into the reservoir and is not pinched between the two parts, as otherwise, water will not reach the substrate. The reservoir is filled after removing the inner container and the water level should not reach the bottom of the upper part, to ensure the roots do not sit directly in water. After repotting, it is good to water the plant from above once to saturate the substrate throughout its volume and initiate capillary action from the wick to the surface of the soil. Given the diameter of 10 cm, the container is intended for smaller plants, and if there is a dense root ball or a fast-growing plant, it is advisable to switch to a larger pot.
