Overview
Round Bread Lame 5 cm with Lotus Pattern and 10 Replacement Blades Wooden Handle with Case Light Brown Dough Scoring

The round bread lame is designed for scoring the surface of dough just before baking. The handle consists of a disc made of light wood with a diameter of 5 cm, which fits comfortably between the fingers and allows you to guide the blade precisely where you need it. The top of the disc features an engraved lotus flower with dots around the edge, making the lame an attractive kitchen tool. The package also includes 10 replacement blades and a red felt case for storage. The lame is suitable for simple straight cuts as well as more complex decorative patterns on a sourdough loaf.

  • Type – bread and dough scoring lame with a round handle
  • Handle Diameter – 5 cm
  • Case Dimensions – 7.3 x 8 cm
  • Handle – wooden disc with engraved lotus pattern
  • Handle Colour – light brown
  • Material – wood and stainless steel
  • Case – red felt case with a snap
  • Usage – scoring sourdough bread, loaves, baguettes, and other yeast doughs
  • Contents – 1 lame with an installed blade, 10 replacement blades, and 1 felt case

The blade is secured with a screw in the centre of the wooden disc, and only the sharp edge protrudes from its edge. The disc is held similarly to a stamp, so your hand remains above the dough, allowing the blade to glide easily over the curved surface of the loaf. When handling the blade, proceed with caution as the edge is very sharp. After use, place the lame into the felt case, which protects both the handle and the blade and prevents the sharp edge from contacting other items in the drawer. Simply wipe the wooden disc with a dry cloth; do not place it in the dishwasher.

Scoring the dough before baking determines how the bread will expand in the oven. A deep cut creates a pronounced ear on the loaf, while shallow cuts allow you to create leaves, ears of corn, or flowers. For a clean cut, it is advisable to lightly dust the surface of the dough with flour and guide the blade smoothly in one motion at a slight angle. The lame is useful for baking both sourdough and yeast bread, baguettes, loaves, or white bread. It will be appreciated by both beginner and experienced home bakers who wish to have control over the slashes on their bread and create their own patterns on the crust.

The round bread lame with a lotus pattern combines a practical baking tool with decorative design. The light wood with the engraved flower fits well in the hand, and the supply of replacement blades allows you to easily swap out a dull blade for a new one. The felt case makes it easy to store safely in the kitchen or in a box with other baking tools. The lame takes up minimal space and also makes a great small gift for home baking enthusiasts. It is a suitable complement to the proofing basket, Danish whisk, and bread knife.
