The rainbow coated tool is a single flute cutter for milling metric thread M20 x 2.5 mm on CNC milling machines and machining centres. The body of the cutter is made from carbide, a hard material commonly used for precision cutting tools. The colourful coating covers the cutting head and neck, while the shank remains silver. Unlike a tap, the cutter does not cut the thread all at once, but gradually creates it by moving along the helix according to the programme. The tool is clamped by a cylindrical shank with a diameter of 14 mm.
