The ocarina with 12 holes in tuning Alto C is a wind instrument that allows you to play folk songs, children's melodies, and popular pieces from films. The Alto C tuning is one of the most commonly used for teaching how to play the ocarina, making it easy to find sheet music, fingerings, and guides for beginners. The instrument is made from lightweight plastic resin, which is lighter and less fragile than ceramic, making it suitable for children's hands. This makes the ocarina particularly suitable for children and beginners who frequently handle the instrument and carry it with them. It has the classic shape of an ocarina with a protrusion for the mouthpiece, which is comfortably held in both hands.

The twelve holes provide a sufficient tonal range for most songs, while the fingering is clear and easy to learn. Playing the ocarina exercises breath control, finger coordination, and musical ear, and helps children develop concentration and patience. The plastic ocarina is a popular choice in music education because it is durable and easy to clean – simply wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth after playing. At the tip of the instrument is a small hole through which you can thread a string, allowing you to wear the ocarina around your neck, keeping it handy while playing. The instrument is very lightweight, so even longer playing sessions won't tire your hands, and smaller children can hold it easily.
You can take the ocarina with you on trips, to the cottage, to camp, or to school, where it is suitable for group playing in class or in music clubs. No additional accessories are needed for playing, and you can easily find sheet music and fingering guides for the twelve-hole ocarina in tuning C in books and online.
If you are looking for an affordable musical instrument that even a complete beginner can handle, the plastic ocarina with 12 holes is a good choice. With dimensions of 17 x 10.1 x 5.5 cm, it fits comfortably in your hand and can be easily stored in a backpack or school bag. It is a practical first instrument for children starting with music, as well as for adults wanting to try something new. The ocarina also makes a lovely and original gift for both young and old musicians. Just unpack it and you can start playing your first songs right away.
