Advanced Simulation
An enhanced physics system allows for over 10,000 solid surfaces, enabling the simulation of any aircraft shape. Soft body physics supports fabrics, ropes, balloons, and more. Improved handling of land and water further enhances realism.
New, highly accurate aviation systems including electrical, pneumatic, fuel, and hydraulic systems, payload and passenger systems, and avionics such as the Universal UNS-1 FMS and Honeywell Primus Epic 2. Pre-flight checks and walk-around inspections contribute to immersion.
Plan your flights using a pioneering flight planner that supports both IFR and VFR map layers, IFR charts, route planning, fuel and payload planning, vertical profile planning, and ETOPS planning. It also provides airport information including weather and NOTAMs and is available natively in the sim, on mobile devices, or web browsers for flight planning outside the simulator.
Explore Our Visually Stunning Digital Twin
Explore our most detailed recreation of planet Earth yet. Enhanced digital elevation maps, over 500 TIN (triangulated irregular network) cities, and more than 100,000 square kilometres of rural photogrammetry provide visually stunning experiences of the digital twin. Over 150 airports, 2,000 glider airfields, 10,000 heliports, 2,000 points of interest, and 900 oil rigs have been meticulously handcrafted, while a procedural system generates all 40,000 airports, nearly 80,000 heliports, 1.5 billion of our buildings and planetary trees.
Land anywhere and for the first time in Microsoft Flight Simulator, exit your aircraft and explore 27 highly detailed biomes with hundreds of species of vegetation, dynamically created details including grass, rocks, and flowers – all influenced by seasonal changes. A completely new photometric lighting system renders the world more accurately than ever before, and improved weather features such as new types of clouds, auroras, and other weather phenomena create lush and impressive atmospheric experiences.
The world comes alive with a vast array of terrestrial wildlife in their natural habitats and free-roaming livestock across the globe. Oceans and waterways teem with vibrant global maritime traffic from large tankers and cargo ships to trawlers, tugboats, and more. Richly diverse, regionally accurate depictions of humanity bring life to airports, aircraft, and passenger cabins around the world. Enhanced real-world air traffic fills the skies and airport grounds with hundreds of accurately depicted aircraft models and dozens of officially licensed liveries.
