Overview
Large Round Edison Bulb with Spiral Filament G125 E27 40 W 220 V 12.5 x 18 cm Glass and Brass Base Warm Light For Hotel Reception

The basis of this Edison bulb is a glass globe with a diameter of 12.5 cm marked G125. A long spiral filament runs through the centre of the globe, starting just below the top and ending above the neck. When the bulb is lit, the spiral glows orange and the glass globe takes on an amber appearance. The globe transitions through a short neck to a brass base, which has an E27 thread. The bulb connects to the 220 V network via a standard socket and has a power of 40 W.

  • Long Spiral — the spiral occupies almost the entire height of the globe, but only a smaller portion of its width. Thanks to the length of the spiral, the filament shines from the top of the globe down to the neck.
  • Angled Threads — the filament in the threads is not smooth but bends into sharp teeth. When viewed from the front, the spiral resembles a wavy line.
  • Vertical Axis — the spiral is wound around a vertical rod that runs from the neck to the top of the spiral. The threads are suspended on short wires on the sides. The rod is visible along the entire length of the spiral.
  • Filament Connection — the bottom end of the spiral is held by a pair of wires that connect to the glass base at the neck.
  • Dimensions — the bulb measures 18 cm in height including the base, and the widest part of the globe is 12.5 cm. It creates a striking light point when used on a cable or in a socket without a shade.
  • Base — the brass base with an E27 thread fits into sockets for pendants, ceiling lights, and wall arms. Above the thread is a small print with details about voltage and power.
  • Consumption — over one hundred hours of operation, the electricity meter measures a consumption of 4 kWh. The classic filament is less energy-efficient than LED, making this bulb suitable mainly for evening decorative lighting.
  • Spiral Light — the warm orange light of the spiral is suitable for places where you prefer subdued rather than bright lighting in the evening.
  • Large Glass Area — the long spiral is clearly visible through the transparent globe even from a distance, such as from the other end of the room. Therefore, it can shine above a dining table or counter even without a shade.
  • Hot Glass — during operation, the globe becomes hot to the touch. Replace the bulb only after it has cooled down and install it in a fixture that allows air to flow around it.
  • For Hotel Reception — in a hotel reception, lobby, or guesthouse, it can hang above the counter as a standalone light. At home, it can be used in a living room with a high ceiling or in an attic.

Contents of the package:

  • 1x Edison bulb G125 with long spiral

The long spiral in the large G125 globe gives this Edison bulb a distinctive appearance even when switched off. The bulb, measuring 12.5 x 18 cm, requires a fixture with enough space around the socket. With a power of 40 W, it emits not only light but also heat, and therefore belongs in open fixtures. It connects to a standard E27 socket in a 220 V network. It is suitable for use in hotel receptions, restaurants, and homes with high ceilings.
