The handheld wall detector helps to determine what is hidden beneath the surface of the wall before drilling, mounting shelves or hammering in nails. The device searches for metal objects, wooden beams, and supporting posts, and can also detect live wires. It measures up to 19 mm beneath a flat surface and determines the object's position with an accuracy of approximately 3 mm. The detected object is indicated by sequentially lighting up the LED indicators and a short beep. The compact body measuring 14.5 x 6.2 x 2.5 cm is comfortably held in one hand.
The detector operates on the principle of changes in material density beneath the surface, which alters the frequency of its sensor. Before measuring, you place the device against the wall and press the main button, which calibrates it to the given surface. Successful calibration is confirmed by the first red indicator light turning off. You then move the detector along the wall while holding the button, and as soon as all indicators light up and a beep sounds, you mark the spot with a pencil. You repeat the same process from the opposite side, making it easy to find the edges and the centre of a wooden or metal beam. The object being searched for should have an area of at least 1200 mm².

The detector is useful when hanging pictures, cabinets, and TV brackets or during renovations when it is necessary to know where beams, pipes or cables run. For reliable results, it is advisable to repeat the measurement at the same spot several times. If the first red indicator light does not turn off during calibration, the device has detected interference or an object directly beneath it, and it needs to be placed a bit to the side. If there is nothing beneath the surface, the detector neither flashes nor beeps. You can replace the battery after removing the cover on the back.
