Overview
CNC Milling Cutter for Thread M14 x 2 mm Single Tooth Shank 12 mm Solid Carbide Sintered Carbide Silver Milling Cutters and Machining Centres Threads M14

The CNC milling cutter for thread M14 x 2 mm features a single tooth with a thread profile and is used for milling metric threads on CNC milling machines and machining centres. It is made entirely from sintered carbide, a hard material commonly used for precision cutting tools. The thread is not created by a tap, but rather by the machine guiding the cutter along a helix according to the programme. At the end of the tool is a cutting head with a single row of thread profile, followed by a narrower neck and a cylindrical shank with a diameter of 12 mm. The surface of the cutter is silver.

  • Thread M14 and pitch 2 mm — the cutter is designed for a metric thread with a nominal diameter of 14 mm and a pitch of 2 mm, which is the standard coarse pitch for M14. M14 threads are commonly used in screw connections in machine parts, frames, or steel structures.
  • Profiled tooth — the cutting head carries a single tooth shaped like the thread. The thread is therefore formed gradually, and its length is determined by the tool's path in the programme.
  • Helical path — the cutter revolves around the thread axis and advances vertically by 2 mm with each revolution. This movement is called helical interpolation and the machine's control system must support it.
  • Hard tool material — the shank, neck, and cutting head are made from a single piece of sintered carbide. This material is harder than tool steel and maintains the precise shape of the tooth well.
  • Cutting edges — the image shows longitudinal grooves on the cutting head. These create the cutting edges and also provide space for chip removal.
  • Shank 12 mm — the cylindrical shank with a diameter of 12 mm is clamped into a collet or holder of the same diameter. The narrower neck between the shank and head allows the cutting part to enter a hole.
  • Direction selection in the programme — right or left thread is created according to the direction of the helix set in the programme. The same cutter can thus produce both directions of thread M14 x 2 mm.
  • Drilling hole for M14 — the internal thread is milled into a pre-drilled hole. Choose the drill diameter according to the tables for thread M14 and clean the hole of chips and burrs before milling.
  • Appropriate loading — the cutting head can be damaged or broken under overload. Choose appropriate feeds and speeds and clamp the cutter firmly and accurately. When not in the machine, store it in a case to prevent damage to the tooth edge.
  • Package contents — 1x single tooth CNC milling cutter for thread M14 x 2 mm with a shank of 12 mm.

The cutter for thread M14 x 2 mm is used for producing metric threads on CNC milling machines and machining centres. Sintered carbide gives it the hardness needed for precise machining. With a single tooth, the thread is formed gradually, and its length and direction are set in the programme. The tool is inserted into the holder with a cylindrical shank of 12 mm. It is suitable for workshops and production environments where M14 threads need to be milled.
