Overview
Carbide Tipped Tool for Thread M12 x 1.75 mm Single Tooth Cutter Shank 10 mm Sintered Carbide Silver CNC Milling Machines and Machining Centres

The carbide tipped tool for thread M12 x 1.75 mm is a single tooth cutter for milling metric threads on CNC milling machines and machining centres. It is made entirely of sintered carbide, a hard material commonly used for precision cutting tools. The thread is not created by a tap, but by gradual milling along the helix according to the machine's programme. At the end of the tool is a cutting head with a single row of thread profile, followed by a narrower neck and a cylindrical shank with a diameter of 10 mm. The surface of the tool is silver.

  • Thread Size and Pitch — the cutter is designed for a metric thread with a nominal diameter of 12 mm and a pitch of 1.75 mm, which is the standard coarse pitch for M12. M12 threads are used, for example, in bolted connections in machine parts, frames, clamping fixtures, or steel structures.
  • Single Tooth — the cutting head carries a single row of thread profile. The thread is thus created gradually, and its length is determined by the programme, not the length of the cutting part.
  • Tool Movement Along the Helix — the cutter revolves around the thread axis and moves vertically by 1.75 mm for each revolution. This movement is called helical interpolation, and the machine's control system must support it.
  • Solid Carbide Construction — the shank, neck, and cutting head are made from a single piece of sintered carbide. The material is harder than tool steel and maintains the precise shape of the tooth well.
  • Cutting Head with Grooves — the image shows longitudinal grooves on the cutting head. They create cutting edges and simultaneously provide space for chip removal.
  • 10 mm Shank — the cylindrical shank with a diameter of 10 mm is clamped into a collet or holder of the same diameter. The narrower neck between the shank and head allows the cutting part to enter a hole.
  • Left or Right Hand Thread — the direction of the thread is determined by the direction of the helix set in the programme. Thus, the same tool can produce both right and left hand threads M12 x 1.75 mm.
  • Drilling Before Threading — the internal thread is milled into a pre-drilled hole. Choose the drill diameter according to the tables for thread M12 and clean the hole of chips and burrs before milling.
  • Stable Clamping — the cutting head may break under overload. Clamp the cutter firmly and accurately, and choose appropriate feeds and speeds. Store it in a case outside the machine to prevent damage to the tooth edge.
  • Package Contents — 1x carbide tipped tool for thread M12 x 1.75 mm with a single tooth and 10 mm shank.

The single tooth cutter for thread M12 x 1.75 mm is used for producing metric threads on CNC milling machines and machining centres. Sintered carbide provides the hardness necessary for precise machining. The thread is created gradually along the helix, and its length and direction are set in the programme. The tool is inserted into the holder with a cylindrical 10 mm shank. It is applicable in workshops and production where M12 threads need to be milled.
