Overview
Carbide Tapered Thread Mill M1.6 x 0.35 mm One Tooth Shank 4 mm Rainbow Head and Silver Shank CNC Milling Machines Threads M1.6

The carbide tapered thread mill is designed for milling metric thread M1.6 x 0.35 mm on CNC milling machines and machining centres. The tool body is made of sintered carbide, a hard material commonly used to manufacture precision cutting tools. The cutting head and neck have a coloured coating with a rainbow sheen, and the clamping shank is silver. The mill features one tooth with a thread profile, and the thread is created by a helical motion controlled by the programme. It is clamped by a cylindrical shank with a diameter of 4 mm.

  • Rainbow-coloured head — the image shows the coating on the cutting head and neck in shades of pink, purple, gold, and blue. The type of coating is not specified in the supplier's documentation.
  • Thread M1.6 with a pitch of 0.35 mm — the mill corresponds to a metric thread with a nominal diameter of 1.6 mm. M1.6 threads are used, for example, in small screws in electronics, optics, devices, or models.
  • Single-row thread tooth — the cutting head carries a single tooth with a thread profile, and the image shows a groove for chip removal. The thread is thus formed gradually, and its length is determined by the programme.
  • Milling by helix — the mill revolves around the thread axis and moves vertically by 0.35 mm for each revolution. This movement is called helical interpolation, and the machine's control system must handle it.
  • Carbide as a base — the tool body is made of sintered carbide, which is harder than tool steel and allows for precise shaping of the small tooth.
  • Uncoated shank — the silver cylindrical shank with a diameter of 4 mm is clamped into a collet or holder of the same diameter. The thin neck between the shank and head allows for entry into a hole.
  • Choose thread direction in the programme — right or left-hand thread is created according to the direction in which the programme guides the tool along the helix. One mill can thus serve for both directions of thread M1.6 x 0.35 mm.
  • Drilled hole — the internal thread is milled into a pre-drilled hole. Choose the drill diameter according to tables for thread M1.6 and clean the hole of chips before milling.
  • Caution with small tooth — the cutting head for thread M1.6 is small, and with high feed or inaccurate clamping, it can break. Choose cutting conditions wisely. When not in use, store the mill in a case to prevent damage to the tooth or coating.
  • Contents of packaging — 1x carbide tapered thread mill M1.6 x 0.35 mm with one tooth and a 4 mm shank.

The carbide tapered thread mill for thread M1.6 x 0.35 mm is used for producing small metric threads on CNC milling machines and machining centres. Sintered carbide provides the hardness needed for precise machining. The cutting head with a rainbow coating has one tooth, allowing the thread to form gradually, and its length and direction can be set in the programme. The mill is inserted into the holder by the silver 4 mm shank. It is applicable in workshops and production where M1.6 threads need to be milled.
