Butterfly and Insect Net Cage 30 x 30 x 30 cm Foldable Rearing Box with Zip Polyester Mesh Black for Observing Caterpillars and Butterflies
You already have the maximum available quantity in your cart.
The foldable butterfly and insect net cage measuring 30 x 30 x 30 cm is a practical rearing box for anyone wanting to closely observe the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. The walls are made of fine black polyester mesh, allowing clear visibility of the contents while keeping the insects securely enclosed inside. Its compact cubic shape fits on a windowsill, shelf, or table, taking up minimal space. The cage opens with a zip, making it easy to insert caterpillars, twigs with leaves, or a dish of food. Thanks to the foldable design, it can be rolled up into a small flat disc after use and stored in a drawer.
- Type – foldable net cage for butterflies, caterpillars, and other insects
- Dimensions – 30 x 30 x 30 cm
- Material – polyester mesh
- Colour – black
- Closure – zip for easy access to the inside of the cage

The cage automatically unfolds into a sturdy shape upon removal from the packaging and is ready for immediate use. The fine mesh allows air and light to pass through, creating a breathable environment while preventing even small insects from escaping. The smaller size is ideal for rearing several caterpillars and observing their transformation right on your desk. The zip allows you to open the cage just enough for what you need and quickly close it again.
To rear caterpillars, simply place fresh twigs with leaves from the plant species they feed on into the cage and regularly replace the leaves. Position the cage in a bright spot away from direct midday sun to prevent overheating inside. Pupae often hang from the ceiling or walls of the cage, where they can be easily seen through the mesh. After hatching, allow the butterflies time for their wings to dry before releasing them outside.
The foldable net cage is suitable for families with children, science teachers, and garden enthusiasts who want to observe insect life up close. Watching the transformation of a caterpillar into a pupa and then into a butterfly is an unforgettable experience for children and a fantastic demonstration of nature in action. The small cage is a great first step in learning about insects and is also suitable for a child's room. After observation, you can release the butterflies into the wild and easily fold the cage away. With its lightweight design and simple folding, you can easily carry it to the garden, cottage, or school. The polyester mesh is lightweight, and the cage can be reassembled and reused at any time.
