The TCT straight router bit measuring 12 x 26 mm is a three-flute grooving router bit designed for milling wide grooves, rebates, and cut-outs in wood. The cutting diameter is 12 mm and the cutting length is 26 mm, making it suitable for wide and medium-depth grooves. The cutting edges are made of carbide and the bit is clamped with a shank diameter of 12.7 mm, which is 1/2 inch. It can be used in a top router, CNC router, or engraving machine. The bit is silver with a grey transition between the shank and the cutting edges.

  • Groove 12 mm — the bit creates a groove 12 mm wide with a flat bottom and vertical walls. It is suitable for joints and recessing thicker boards, strips, and fillers.
  • Cutting Length 26 mm — the cutting edges allow milling to a depth of up to 26 mm. For deeper grooves, always mill progressively in multiple passes to avoid overloading the tool.
  • Three-Flute Cut — during rotation, three cutting edges engage in the cut sequentially, each removing smaller chips. The cut is therefore smoother than with bits having fewer cutting edges.
  • Carbide Cutting Edge — the abbreviation TCT denotes cutting edges made of carbide. This material is harder than tool steel and is commonly used for wood and chipboard router bits.
  • 1/2 Inch Collet — the shank with a diameter of 12.7 mm fits into a collet of the same diameter. A 12 mm collet is not suitable, so please verify your machine's equipment before purchasing.
  • Bit Length — the total length of the tool is 86 mm. The robust shank provides the bit with good rigidity, and the depth of insertion into the collet should be chosen according to the machine's instructions.
  • Top Routers, Tables, and CNC — the bit can be used in a handheld top router, in a router table, in a CNC router, or in an engraving machine, provided they have a collet for 1/2 inch.
  • Frames and Doors — the bit is designed for wood and multi-layer chipboard. It is suitable for wide grooves and rebates in frames, doors, shelves, and other furniture components.
  • Working Procedure — the wide bit removes a lot of material in one pass, so choose an appropriate feed rate and gradually increase the depth. Secure the workpiece firmly and wear protective goggles.
