The ratchet pipe cutter divides plastic conduits in one motion and without shavings, which remain inside the pipe when using a saw and later clog the joints. It can handle pipes up to 33 mm in diameter, which are common sizes for irrigation, cable conduits, air hoses, and thin-walled waste systems. It is designed for materials PVC, PU, PP, and PE, which are used in plumbing, gardening, and the installation of pneumatic systems. The self-locking design means that the jaw automatically tightens around the pipe when pressed and holds it during cutting, so the material does not need to be held with a second hand or clamped in a vice. The blade is made of alloyed steel and cuts layer by layer with each pull of the lever. The edge remains perpendicular, allowing a fitting or connector to sit on the pipe without further adjustment, ensuring a tight seal on the first attempt.
- Self-Locking Mechanism – the jaw automatically locks during cutting, preventing the pipe from slipping and allowing the cut to continue from where the previous squeeze left off. This allows one-handed operation even on a pipe laid in a trench, in a channel, or above head height.
- Ratchet Action – the cut is distributed over several short squeezes, reducing the force needed for thicker-walled profiles. The cut progresses smoothly and does not end with the blade getting stuck halfway through the cross-section.
- Blade Material – alloyed steel retains its edge even after repeated cutting of harder PP and PVC. The blade can simply be wiped clean after use and does not require lubrication or special maintenance.
- Tool Dimensions – 19.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm fits into a bag, case, or pocket of overalls. The width of 4 cm allows for work even between hoses laid closely together, where a larger tool would not fit.
- Control – the curved lever is operated with one hand, and its shape directs the force to the cutting axis, preventing the jaw from deviating. The spring automatically returns the lever to its starting position, so the hand does not need to reposition between squeezes.
