The wood router bit measuring 6 x 32 mm features a straight profile and three tungsten carbide (TCT) cutting edges. It is designed for milling deep grooves, rebates, and cutouts in wood as well as multi-layer chipboard. With a cutting edge length of 32 mm, it can work with thicker materials. The bit is secured with a shank diameter of 12.7 mm, which is 1/2 inch, into a router, CNC milling machine, or engraving machine. The entire bit is silver with a black ring at the top of the shank.

  • Cutting Diameter 6 mm — the bit creates a groove 6 mm wide with a flat bottom and vertical walls. It is suitable for joints, recessing boards, and precise cutouts.
  • Working Length 32 mm — the long cutting edges allow for milling to a depth of up to 32 mm. For deeper grooves, mill gradually in multiple passes to avoid overloading the tool.
  • Three-Flute Cut — the three cutting edges alternate during rotation, each removing a smaller chip. The cut is therefore smoother than with bits having fewer edges.
  • Tungsten Carbide Edges — the cutting edges are made from tungsten carbide, which is harder than tool steel. This material is commonly used for machining wood and chipboard.
  • Shank Diameter — the shank measures 12.7 mm and is secured in a collet of the same diameter. The bit is not designed for a 12 mm collet, so please check what collet your router has before purchasing.
  • Total Tool Length — the bit is 80 mm long. The thick shank provides the necessary rigidity even with a long working length. Adjust the depth of the shank insertion into the collet according to the machine's manual.
  • Compatible Machines — the bit can be used in a handheld router, router table, CNC milling machine, and engraving machine, provided they have a 12.7 mm collet.
  • Thicker Boards and Beams — the longer working length is suitable for thicker boards and beams where you need a deeper groove or cutout. It is useful in furniture making, framing, and wooden constructions.
  • Proper Setup — securely tighten the bit in the collet, set appropriate speeds and feeds, and securely clamp the workpiece. Always wear safety goggles while working.
