The valve headphone amplifier is a compact desktop audio device that combines the functions of a headphone amplifier and a HiFi preamplifier. It is equipped with two 6A2 valves and a pair of NE5532 operational amplifiers, which shape the resulting sound output. It can connect to sources with a stereo output of 3.5 mm AUX and RCA, such as a computer, phone, MP3 player, or CD player. The front panel features two headphone connectors, 3.5 mm and 6.35 mm, allowing for dual listening or switching between different headphones. The metal casing in black-gold design takes up minimal space on the desk.
- Output power ≥ 1100 mW (32 Ω) and support for headphones with an impedance of 18–600 Ω, including models HD580, HD600, HD650, K701, K702, Q701, DT880, T70, T90, SR225, SR325, and RS1e.
- Inputs for stereo 3.5 mm AUX and RCA, outputs 3.5 mm and 6.35 mm. Inputs and outputs are wired in parallel and operate simultaneously; do not connect the 3.5 mm and RCA inputs at the same time, otherwise the audio signals will mix.
- Frequency response 20 Hz – 30 kHz and signal-to-noise ratio ≥ 110 dB.
- The socketed design for valves and operational amplifiers allows for replacement and sound modification. The 6A2 valves can be replaced with types 6J1, 6К1П, 6AK5, 6BC5, 403A/B, 5654, EF40, EF95, CV850, 6J2, 6К2П, 6AS6, CV2522, EF11/732, CV4011, 6J3, 6К3С, 86BC666G, 5CV, 86BC, EF966, 6J4, 6ж4, 6136, 6BX6, 6AC7, EF94, 6AU6, 6K4, 6K5, 6K4П, 6BA6, 6DA6, EF89/93, and 5749.
- Powered by DC 5 V with a minimum current of 2 A — at lower currents, the device does not operate correctly. The internal operating voltage is 24 V due to the built-in boost circuit. The power adapter is not included.
- Also usable as a preamplifier for amplifiers or active speakers.
