Three-flute engraving bits 30° x 0.3 mm are CNC V-bits for engravings with a bolder and well-visible line. The 30° angle keeps the groove slender, while the 0.3 mm tip provides a distinct bottom and sturdy point. The pack contains 10 pcs of identical solid carbide bits with a pyramid-shaped cutting section. The bits are clamped with a 3.175 mm shank into the collet of a CNC milling machine or engraving machine. All bits have a silver metallic finish.

  • Combination of 30° and 0.3 mm — a medium sharp angle and wide tip create a prominent line that remains neat. This is a practical choice for most common inscriptions, logos, and labels of medium size.
  • Distinct bottom of the groove — the 0.3 mm area at the tip removes material even at the bottom of the groove. This makes the line bolder and more prominent, especially after colouring the engraving.
  • Durable point — the widest tip gives the bit strength. The point better withstands normal loads during engraving and is less prone to breaking than finer variants.
  • Dimensions — the total length of the bit is 32 mm and the shank diameter is 3.175 mm, which is 1/8 inch. The cutting section is short and suitable for engraving with a shallow cutting depth, where the work is mainly done with the tip.
  • Three flutes in a pyramid — the cutting section with three flutes alternates during rotation and gradually removes material. The removed chips thus exit evenly from all three sides of the tip.
  • Solid carbide — a hard material commonly used for CNC engraving bits. It is significantly harder than tool steel.
  • Correct collet — for secure clamping, use a collet for a diameter of 3.175 mm. A 3 mm collet is not suitable for this shank and the bit may not hold securely in it. Therefore, verify the diameter before ordering.

  • Fewer passes — a wider line means that for larger motifs, you need fewer parallel passes than with finer bits. Thus, you can shorten the work on signs and larger inscriptions.
