TCT Router Bit 8 x 22 mm for Grooves Straight Three-Edged Shank 12.7 mm 1/2 inch Tungsten Carbide Router and CNC Silver Wood and Chipboard

The TCT router bit with dimensions 8 x 22 mm is a straight groove cutting bit for milling grooves, half-grooves, and cutouts in wood. The cutting diameter is 8 mm and the length of the cutting edges is 22 mm, making it suitable for wider grooves of standard depth. The three edges are made of tungsten carbide (TCT) and the bit is clamped with a shank diameter of 12.7 mm, which is 1/2 inch. It can be used in a router, CNC machine, or engraving machine. The bit is silver with a grey transition between the shank and the cutting edges.

  • Groove Profile 8 mm — the bit creates a groove 8 mm wide with a flat bottom and vertical walls. It is suitable for joints and recessing thicker panels.
  • Cutting Length 22 mm — the edges allow milling to a depth of up to 22 mm. For deeper grooves, mill gradually in multiple passes to avoid overloading the tool.
  • Three Edges for Smooth Cutting — during rotation, all three edges engage in the cut gradually, each removing a smaller chip. This results in a smoother cut than with bits that have fewer edges.
  • Hard Cutting Edges — the cutting edges are made of tungsten carbide, abbreviated as TCT. It is harder than tool steel and is commonly used for wood and board bits.
  • Shank Diameter 12.7 mm — the 1/2 inch shank fits into a 12.7 mm collet. A 12 mm collet is not suitable for it, so please check your machine's equipment before purchasing.
  • Total Tool Length — the bit measures 78 mm. The strong shank provides good rigidity in the collet, and the depth of insertion should be chosen according to the machine's instructions.
  • For Routers and CNC — the bit can be used in a handheld router, router table, CNC machine, or engraving machine, provided they have a collet for 1/2 inch.
  • Cabinets and Doors — the bit is designed for wood and multi-layer chipboard. It is suitable for grooves in cabinet carcasses, doors, shelves, and drawers.
  • Safety Precautions — securely tighten the bit in the collet, safely clamp the workpiece, and choose an appropriate feed rate. Always wear safety glasses when milling.
