The straight grooving cutter with a cutting diameter of 4 mm is designed for milling narrow grooves, notches, and cut-outs in wood. It features three tungsten carbide (TCT) cutting edges and a working length of 22 mm. The cutter is clamped with a shank diameter of 12.7 mm, which is 1/2 inch, into a router, CNC milling machine, or engraving machine. It is suitable for solid wood as well as multilayer chipboard. The body of the cutter is silver with a white section at the cutting edges and a black ring on the shank.
- Cutting diameter 4 mm — the cutter creates a groove 4 mm wide with a flat bottom and vertical walls. It is suitable for narrow grooves, embedding thin parts, and precise cut-outs.
- Working length — the cutting edges are 22 mm long, which determines the maximum cutting depth. With a small diameter of 4 mm, we recommend gradually increasing the depth in multiple passes.
- Three cutting edges — during one rotation, three cutting edges engage with the material. This results in a smoother cut compared to single-flute or two-flute cutters with the same diameter and speed.
- Tungsten carbide cutting edges (TCT) — the cutting edges are made of tungsten carbide, which is harder than tool steel. Tungsten carbide cutting edges are commonly used for machining wood and chipboard.
- Shank 12.7 mm — the shank with a diameter of 1/2 inch is clamped into a 12.7 mm collet. A 12 mm collet is not suitable for it, so please check what collet your router has before purchasing.
- Total length 71 mm — the cutter is long enough for secure clamping in the collet while remaining compact. Choose the depth of shank insertion into the collet according to the manufacturer's instructions for your machine.
- For multiple types of machines — the cutter can be used in a handheld router, in a router mounted in a table, in a CNC milling machine, and in an engraving machine, provided they have a 12.7 mm collet.
- Wood and boards — the cutter is intended for solid wood and multilayer chipboard. You will use it when making furniture, shelves, boxes, and other wooden parts.
- Careful handling — the cutter with a small diameter can break if overloaded or fed too quickly. Use an appropriate feed rate and always work with safety goggles.
