The long grooving cutter with dimensions 7 x 30 mm is designed for deep straight grooves, rebates, and cutouts in wood. The cutting diameter is 7 mm and the edges have a length of 30 mm, allowing the cutter to handle thicker materials. It features three TCT cutting edges and a shank diameter of 12.7 mm, or 1/2 inch. It is clamped into a router, CNC milling machine, or engraving machine. The cutter is silver and has a black ring at the top of the shank.
- Groove Width 7 mm — the cutter creates a groove 7 mm wide with a flat bottom and vertical walls. It is suitable for joints and recessing parts where a 6 mm groove is too narrow.
- Deep Cut 30 mm — the long edges allow for milling to a depth of up to 30 mm. Always mill such deep grooves gradually in multiple passes, increasing the depth in smaller increments.
- Triple Blade Action — the three blades alternate during rotation, each removing a smaller chip. This results in a smoother cut than cutters with fewer blades.
- Hard Cutting Material — the blades are made of carbide, which is harder than tool steel. Carbide is commonly used for wood cutters and multi-layer chipboard.
- Correct Collet — the 1/2 inch shank fits into a 12.7 mm collet. A 12 mm collet is not suitable, so please check what collet your machine has before purchasing.
- Total Length of Cutter — the cutter measures 78 mm. The thick shank provides rigidity to the tool even with a long working part. Choose the depth of the shank insertion into the collet according to the machine's manual.
- Applicable Machines — the cutter can be clamped into a handheld router, milling table, CNC milling machine, or engraving machine with a 1/2 inch collet.
- Strong Material — the longer edges are suitable for thicker boards and beams made of wood as well as multi-layer chipboard. You will use them in furniture making, frames, and wooden constructions.
- Gradual Deepening — do not overload the long cutter with too much depth in one pass. Tighten the cutter securely, clamp the workpiece safely, and wear protective glasses while working.
