CNC engraving tools with a tip size of 40° x 0.1 mm represent a middle ground between slim and wide V-bits. The 40° angle creates a groove that is well visible while also handling smaller letters and finer details. The pack includes 10 pieces of triple flute pyramid bits made from solid carbide. The bits are clamped with a 3.175 mm shank into the collet of a CNC milling machine or engraving machine. They are silver, and all pieces have identical dimensions.

  • Medium angle 40° — the sides of the tip are not as flared as with a 60° angle nor as slim as with a 20° angle. The groove expands more gradually with depth, allowing for more precise line width adjustment using the cutting depth.
  • Sharp tip 0.1 mm — the very narrow tip creates a sharp bottom of the groove. Therefore, the lines have a clean V-shaped profile and distinct edges.
  • Total length — the bit measures 30 mm. A short tool bends less during engraving and maintains the chosen path better. The length is sufficient for secure clamping in the collet.
  • Pyramid shape — the cutting part is shaped like a triangular pyramid with three flutes. The flutes alternate during rotation, removing material smoothly and evenly. Chips can exit the groove from all three sides of the tip.
  • Carbide material — the bits are made from solid carbide, which is harder than tool steel and is commonly used for engraving tools.
  • 1/8 inch collet — the shank diameter is 3.175 mm. Clamp the bit into a collet for this diameter; a 3 mm collet is not suitable for it. Before working, check that the bit is securely tightened in the collet.
  • Universal use — the 40° angle is suitable for medium-sized inscriptions, name tags, labels, and decorative motifs. It is therefore appropriate for a range of common engraving tasks.
  • Text and details — compared to wide angles, it creates a narrower line at the same depth. This allows it to fit into smaller letters and finer ornaments, where a wide tip would merge the lines together.
  • Pack for extended work — ten identical bits allow you to easily replace a worn piece with a new one with the same parameters. The supply is sufficient for larger orders.
  • Contents of the pack — 10x engraving V-bit 40° x 0.1 mm.

Engraving bits 40° x 0.1 mm are a practical choice if you are looking for a tool for inscriptions as well as finer details. The medium tip angle creates a well-visible line that is not unnecessarily wide.
