18 mm Ratchet Wrench with Twelve-Point Socket and Flat Fork with Fine Tooth Gearing with 72 Teeth and a 224 mm Arm in Dark Grey Finish

The eighteen holds the suspension and the mounting of frames and carriers. The gearing skips to the next tooth after five degrees of rotation, and the 224 mm long arm offers a strong pull. Full description

Overview
18 mm Ratchet Wrench with Twelve-Point Socket and Flat Fork with Fine Tooth Gearing with 72 Teeth and a 224 mm Arm in Dark Grey Finish

The eighteen appears on the suspension mounting on carriers and frames of trailers at pumps and on flanges, where the thread is longer and the nut is threaded on after many rotations. This is where it is useful that the closed end carries the ratchet and does not need to be flipped after each pull. The gearing with 72 teeth catches a new engagement after turning just five degrees, allowing the screw to move even in spaces where the arm can barely fit between obstacles. The other end features a classic open fork, which can be applied from the side where the socket cannot be threaded, such as on nuts on pipes at joints and on recessed connections. The arm is 224 mm long and provides leverage corresponding to the torque that connections of this size can typically withstand. The socket has a width of 39.5 mm with a thickness of 11.5 mm, the open end measures 37 mm and is 8.5 mm thick. The body is dark grey, the ratchet ring has a golden hue, and the number 18 is stamped on both sides of the arm. The arm is flat and slightly curved near the head, allowing it to run closely along the component.

  • Ratchet Mechanism in the Socket — the long thread can be quickly threaded without repeatedly removing the wrench, which is especially noticeable with larger nuts.
  • Engagement after 5° — fine division moves the socket even in places where the arm barely travels a few centimetres, such as between the frame and sheet metal.
  • 224 mm Arm — the length corresponds to the torque of connections of this size and saves hand strength when loosening tightly fastened screws.
  • Twelve-Point Socket 39.5 mm — the twelve position engagement facilitates starting in a narrow sector and wraps around the nut completely, ensuring that the edges bear the force rather than the corners.
  • Fork 37 mm — the flat end with a thickness of 8.5 mm reaches nuts on tie rod pipes and hydraulic fittings, around which the socket cannot pass.
  • Direction Switching — the lever in the ratchet ring changes the direction, so one application is sufficient for both loosening and subsequent tightening.
  • Stamped Number 18 — the marking on both sides of the arm speeds up selection among wrenches laid out on the workbench or in the parts bag.

The tool is suitable for automotive service in workshops dealing with agricultural and construction equipment, as well as for assembling steel structures and installations, where screws of this size are repeated in multiple locations. It is also useful for maintaining connection equipment and carriers, where connections are regularly loosened and retightened. The ratchet side is used for threading and tightening, while for the first break of a rusted nut, it is better to reach for a solid wrench or a socket head, as impact loading wears out the gearing the most. The socket must be applied fully, otherwise, the torque is transferred to the edge parts and the screw will be dented. This is particularly true for galvanised screws with a softer surface. The thickness of the socket is 11.5 mm maintains the gearing in a firm engagement, and the head does not expand under pressure even at higher loads. It is advisable to protect the mechanism from water and fine dust; any accumulation can be blown out and supplemented with a drop of oil. The dark grey surface with a golden ring can be wiped clean of grease with a single cloth, and the wrench can be hung on a panel or stored in a drawer of the trolley, where the stamped number will immediately reveal it. A standalone piece is also useful as an addition to a set that lacks this size.
