Overview
Holly Ilex Aquifolium Seeds 100 pcs Red Berries Glossy Green Leaves Ornamental Shrub for Planting in the Garden or Hedge

This set contains 100 seeds of the ornamental shrub Ilex aquifolium, commonly known as holly. From these small seeds, a hardy shrub with glossy spiny green leaves and striking red berries will grow. It is a popular ornamental shrub suitable for planting in gardens, hedges, or as a solitary specimen. Growing from seeds is a rewarding and long-term activity for gardeners who appreciate evergreen shrubs and want to observe their development from the first sprouts. The large seed pack is also suitable for bulk sowing and establishing hedges.

The glossy spiny leaves and striking red berries are among the most distinctive features of holly and provide colour to the planting even in winter. Holly is a dioecious plant, so both male and female shrubs need to be cultivated for berry production. The pack of 100 seeds provides ample material for repeated and bulk sowing or for planting a large number of plants.

Ilex aquifolium is favoured by growers seeking a hardy ornamental shrub grown from seeds for gardens or hedges. Young plants initially produce small leaves, from which a leafy stem gradually develops, eventually becoming a branching shrub. Growing allows for the observation of the entire plant's development and later transplanting to a permanent location. The grown shrubs can be used as solitary specimens, trimmed hedges, or part of mixed plantings.
