This set contains 1000 seeds of the ornamental tree Ficus religiosa, known in Czech as the sacred fig and popularly as the bodhi tree. From these tiny seeds, a plant will grow with striking green heart-shaped leaves with pointed tips and a sturdy trunk, making it popular for bonsai cultivation. It is a decorative plant suitable for growing indoors, on windowsills, in conservatories, or as a houseplant. Growing from seeds is a rewarding and long-term activity for gardeners who love figs and want to observe their development from the first sprouts. The large seed pack is also suitable for bulk sowing and cultivating multiple plants.
The characteristic heart-shaped green leaves with tapered tips are among the most distinctive features of this fig tree, making it an ideal plant for bonsai shaping. The sturdy trunk and dense crown give the plant a striking appearance. The pack of 1000 seeds provides ample material for repeated and bulk sowing or for growing a large number of plants simultaneously.
Ficus religiosa is popular among growers seeking an ornamental plant grown from seeds as a houseplant or future bonsai. Young plants initially produce small leaves, from which a leafy stem gradually develops, followed by a branched woody structure. Growing in a container allows for monitoring the entire development of the plant and gradually shaping it. The grown fig tree can be used as a houseplant, a standalone feature, or as a base for bonsai cultivation.
