Overview
Jute Seeds Corchorus capsularis 1000 pcs Tropical Textile Plant for Bulk Agricultural Planting and Professional Cultivation

In this professional packaging of a thousand jute seeds, you will receive a substantial supply sufficient for plantation cultivation, establishing your own field for fibre production, or long-term cultivation of this economically significant raw material. Corchorus capsularis is the second most important fibre plant in global trade, just after cotton, and its cultivation employs millions of people in countries such as Bangladesh and India. This species is among the most significant cash crops in tropical regions, forming the basis of traditional agriculture and the modern textile industry.

From an economic perspective, jute is valued not only for fibre production but also for its rapid growth – under good conditions, it can grow from a small seed to an adult height of around 2.5 to 3.5 metres in 3 to 5 months. The leaves are elliptical with a visibly serrated edge, as shown in the picture, and in India and Africa, they are harvested as a vegetable. The flowers are small and yellow, gradually maturing into spherical fruits from which additional seeds can be obtained for the next season.

For bulk planting, it is advisable to prepare a field or larger bed with a good drainage layer and quality humus substrate. Seeds should be sown in spring after the last frosts, ideally in rows spaced 25 to 40 cm apart. The sowing depth should not exceed 2 cm. Germination occurs at temperatures above 20 °C within 1 to 2 weeks. The plants grow very quickly and require regular watering in drier areas.

Professional packaging of a thousand seeds opens up the possibility of producing eco-friendly jute textiles or small-scale cultivation for personal use and sale. Jute fibre is biodegradable, strong, and finds applications in eco-textiles, fashion accessories, handbags, carpets, sacks, and handicrafts. Fibre collection is carried out using the traditional method of retting (soaking harvested stems), which has remained virtually unchanged for the last 200 years. After the seeds mature, part of the harvest can be kept for personal seed production in subsequent seasons. For successful plantation growth, a sunny location, regular irrigation, and a humus-rich permeable substrate with neutral pH are essential.
