Allium fistulosum 'Red Ninja' is an unusual variety of spring onion that features a striking red to deep purple bulb transitioning into long green fleshy stalks. This modern variety of spring onion combines high ornamental value with versatile culinary use and is particularly suited for salads, where it adds a colourful accent. In this package, you will receive 10 pcs of seeds, from which you can grow young plants for garden beds, raised growing areas, or a smaller kitchen garden. This species is popular among gourmets looking for a plant with a unique appearance, as well as among gardeners who wish to enrich their vegetable offerings with a colourful alternative to traditional onions.

Main product features:

  • Botanical name: Allium fistulosum 'Red Ninja' (spring onion)
  • Quantity: 10 pcs of seeds per package
  • Bulb: red to deep purple, distinctly colour differentiated from common varieties
  • Stalks: long green fleshy, suitable for direct consumption
  • Plant character: modern variety of spring onion with high ornamental and culinary value
  • Location and cultivation: full sun, well-drained nutrient-rich soil, suitable for garden beds, raised beds, kitchen gardens, or containers on the terrace
  • Pre-cultivation: sowing in warmth in seed trays or direct sowing in the bed, seeds germinate well in warmed substrate
  • Use: culinary vegetable for salads, garnishing dishes, sauces, Asian cuisine, and stir-fry preparations
  • Contents of the package: 10 pcs of Allium fistulosum Red Ninja spring onion seeds.

Growing this unusual spring onion is a rewarding way for anyone who wants to have an unusual colourful culinary vegetable in their garden. After sowing, the seeds thrive best in warmed substrate, and the young seedlings gradually develop their first leaves, from which full-grown plants with characteristic red bulbs evolve throughout the season. The species appreciates sunny locations with well-drained nutrient-rich soil, where it has ample space to develop long fleshy stalks. The red colour of the bulb makes this variety not only an ornamental plant for the garden but also an attractive ingredient for preparing salads, garnishing dishes, or Asian cuisine, where spring onion is traditionally used. The plant is harvested gradually according to current kitchen needs, allowing for a regular supply of fresh vegetables over a long period. Regular watering during dry spells, moderate fertilisation during the growing season, and a sunny position support stable plant development and the quality of the resulting stalks. Spring onions are generally less demanding than traditional onion varieties and do not form underground bulbs, but their long fleshy stalks are utilised. For growers seeking a modern ornamental variant of traditional spring onions, Red Ninja represents an interesting choice with an attractive appearance and versatile culinary use throughout the year.
