Overview
Pennisetum Purpureum Ornamental Grass Seeds 20 pcs High Fast-Growing Grass with Cylindrical Spikes For the Garden or as a Specimen Plant

Pennisetum purpureum is a tall and exceptionally fast-growing grass, valued by growers for its striking appearance and lush growth. It forms dense clumps of long narrow leaves and tall stems topped with cylindrical hairy spikes that resemble a brush and beautifully sway in the wind, as clearly seen in the image of the growth. The grass quickly reaches a considerable height and creates a dense green backdrop. The pack contains 20 seeds, providing you with a sufficient supply to grow multiple clumps and for repeated sowing. It is grown in the garden as a specimen or from young plants in containers.

Key Features:

  • Cylindrical Spikes — tall stems are topped with cylindrical hairy spikes resembling a brush, which sway in the wind and are the main decoration of the grass.
  • Fast and Lush Growth — the grass quickly reaches a considerable height and forms dense clumps, creating an impressive green backdrop in no time.
  • Long Narrow Leaves — dense clumps of long narrow leaves give the plant a rich grassy appearance throughout the season.
  • Ornamental Grass — Pennisetum purpureum is grown as a striking ornamental grass suitable as a specimen or in compositions with other grasses.
  • Garden Cultivation — the grass is grown in the garden in a sunny spot, where it has enough space for robust clumps; young plants can initially be grown in containers.
  • Tall Growth — due to its height, it is suitable as a natural green screen or a prominent feature at the back of the flower bed.
  • Movement in the Wind — long stems and spikes gracefully sway in the wind, bringing movement and the sound of rustling leaves to the garden.
  • Suitable for Compositions — it combines well with shorter perennials and other grasses, creating an impressive height layer in the flower bed or at the edge of the lawn.
  • Pack of 20 Seeds — a larger supply of seeds allows for growing more clumps at once, repeating sowing at various times, and sharing with other growers.
  • Growing from Seeds — you have full control over the grass's development from germination to mature clumps and can observe its rapid growth.
  • Decoration for Arrangements — dried spikes retain their shape and are suitable for dry arrangements and autumn decorations, allowing you to utilise the plant even after the season.
