JOANLAB HMC-500ML Digital Heating Mantle Temperature Control Buttons Volume 500 ml Heating Up to 380 °C White-Blue For Laboratory Flasks

The set value remains illuminated on the display, so you don't have to guess the position of the button. The probe measures the temperature inside the glass, and the heating adjusts accordingly. Full description

Overview
JOANLAB HMC-500ML Digital Heating Mantle Temperature Control Buttons Volume 500 ml Heating Up to 380 °C White-Blue For Laboratory Flasks

A half-litre flask and precisely set temperature — this sums up the JOANLAB HMC-500ML digital heating mantle. The dish envelops the round bottom of a flask with a volume of 500 ml and transfers heat through direct contact, while the electronics monitor the selected value throughout the heating process. The heating covers a range from room temperature to 380 °C and is set using buttons next to the display, eliminating the need to estimate from the position of a rotary knob. The probe on a cable is inserted into the liquid and serves as a basis for controlling the heating throughout the experiment. This size is among the most commonly used for synthesis, extraction, reflux, and general solution preparation.

  • Volume 500 ml — the mantle is designed for half-litre flasks with round bottoms and safely lifts them above the work surface into a stable position, so the glass does not sit directly on the plate.
  • Digital temperature setting — the value is entered using buttons and remains on the display, making the progress of the experiment readable at any time, even from a few steps away.
  • Range up to 380 °C — one device covers gentle warming of aqueous mixtures as well as higher temperatures for organic liquids and their mixtures.
  • Probe in the liquid — the temperature sensor measures directly the contents of the flask, so the heating is controlled according to the actual temperature of the sample, rather than the heated mantle.
  • Uniform heating — contact over the entire surface of the bottom reduces hot spots where the mixture could settle and burn onto the wall.
  • No open flame — heat transfer through the mantle replaces a Bunsen burner or water bath and simplifies working with flammable solvents on the work surface.
  • Sturdy construction — the body with a metal rim and four legs keep the filled flask, even with a fitted condenser, above the dish during prolonged operation.
  • Low maintenance — the outer surface only needs to be wiped down after cooling, and no water or limescale remains in the dish as it does with a bath.

Contents of the package:

  • 1x JOANLAB HMC-500ML digital heating mantle
  • 1x temperature sensor

Precisely set temperature is particularly useful in procedures that are repeated and are intended to yield comparable results each time you run them. The display shows the set value at all times, allowing you to monitor the process even while doing other tasks on the work surface. Measuring with the probe inside the flask better reflects what is happening with the liquid than measuring on the outer wall of the mantle. Uniform heat transfer to the bottom of the flask reduces the risk of burning thicker and more viscous mixtures at the bottom. The mantle is suitable for school and corporate laboratories, for distillation, extraction, and for preparing samples for further analysis or processing.
