The Outlast Trials is a first-person survival horror game developed by Red Barrels, serving as a prequel to the acclaimed Outlast series. Players find themselves during the Cold War, becoming test subjects in a sinister experiment conducted by the Murkoff Corporation, aimed at testing advanced methods of brainwashing and mind control.

Key Features:

  • Cooperative Gameplay: Experience terror alone or with up to four players in cooperative multiplayer mode. Teamwork is essential for surviving the trials and overcoming horrors.
  • Diverse Abilities (Rigys): Choose from six different rigs, each offering unique abilities such as seeing objects and enemies through walls, healing teammates, deploying mines or smoke bombs, stunning enemies, or reinforcing barricades that block pursuers.
  • Night Vision Goggles: Navigate dark environments using night vision goggles, which require regular recharging with rare batteries.
  • Stealth and Strategy: Use stealth tactics to avoid grotesque enemies. Use items like bricks and glass bottles to distract or temporarily stun opponents, as direct combat is not an option.
  • Challenging Objectives: Complete primary and secondary objectives in each trial to progress and earn higher scores.
