  • Permadeath
    A game that defined death for the survival genre. When you die in Survival mode, your save is deleted. Every decision matters.
  • No Hand-Holding
    The game challenges players to think for themselves by providing information but never answers. You must earn the right to survive.
  • Status and Calories
    Monitor your hunger, thirst, fatigue, and cold as you try to balance resources and the energy needed to acquire them. Every action costs calories and time is your most precious resource. Choose your path carefully.
  • Explore the World and Search for Supplies
    Over 100 items of equipment including tools, light sources, weapons, first aid supplies, clothing, and more.
  • Vast Living World
    Explore over 50 square kilometres of northern Canadian wilderness encompassing 12 major regions and all the zones that connect them, in search of supplies for survival. Remote mountains, coastal towns, mines, farmland, and vast expanses of brutal winter wilderness that will test your ability to survive.
  • Survival of the Fittest
    Hunt, fish, trap, climb, map, search for life-saving food and gear, and try to avoid death from hostile wildlife, succumbing to hypothermia, frostbite, or dysentery (among other unpleasant afflictions), find and maintain your life-saving equipment. Hunt and be hunted: wolves, bears, moose, rabbits, deer, crows, and more to come in future updates.
  • Choose Your Experience
    Four different experience modes allow you to find the level of challenge that suits you, from Pilgrim Mode, designed to be quiet and contemplative, to Interloper mode, where only the most experienced survivors stand a chance of lasting a week. If none of the four experiences suit you, use the Custom Mode settings to tailor the Survival Mode game to your specific taste.
