Summertime Madness is a first-person puzzle game for a single player.
The player, in the role of a painter who made a deal with the devil, must find a way back to the real world after being deceived and trapped on one of his canvases. A dreamlike journey into the surreal world of the artist's own creations, where atmospheric gameplay offers mysteries to explore, puzzles to solve, and artistic landscapes to investigate.
You find yourself on a developing island.
As you explore your surroundings, the island begins to change. The appearance of a ship, the rise of a lighthouse, every mystery you uncover and puzzle you solve reveals new wonders and uncovers new places to explore. But be warned in advance, the scene you find yourself in, this breathtaking land of colours and oils, is not always as straightforward as it seems. This fascinating world on the canvas hides more mysteries than even the artist intended.
Prague
20 July 1945
The city of Prague was under siege, ravaged by war.
Buildings were falling, churches were burning, and everything was to be washed away forever.
There lived a painter, isolated from the outside world. The worse the horrors of war became, the more the artist obsessively painted beautiful landscapes as a contrast to the evil he witnessed. One night, a mysterious figure appeared in the house seemingly out of nowhere. The stranger walked slowly around the room, examining the paintings. Then he sat down in front of the artist; to offer him a deal.
A chance to enter one of his own creations, far away and free from war. But he would have to find his way back before midnight, or his soul would be trapped in the canvas forever. The artist, feeling alone, on the brink of madness, terrorised by the stench of death creeping from the streets, shook the mysterious man's hand and accepted the deal.
Moments later, the house was empty.
