Resident Evil 6, which combines action and survival horror, promises to be the dramatic horror experience of 2013. Fan favourites Resident Evil Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Ada Wong are joined by new characters, including Jake Muller, to face a new horror, the highly virulent C-virus, as the story moves between North America, the war-torn Eastern European state of Edonia, and the Chinese city of Lanshiang.

Beginning with three distinct yet intertwined story threads, each with its own pair of protagonists for solo or cooperative play, both offline and online, Resident Evil 6 will not only offer various perspectives and gameplay styles but also, with the introduction of the innovative Crossover mechanic, players will be able to connect and share the horror. At key moments in the game, up to four players can team up online to tackle specific situations, with the usual partnerships swapping at certain stages to further enhance the depth of gameplay.

Once players complete the initial three campaigns, they will unlock an entirely new campaign featuring Resident Evil's own femme fatale, Ada Wong. The single-player campaign includes unique missions, gameplay, and weapons that will provide answers to unanswered questions from the first three campaigns.

  • Global Horror – The C-virus is no longer confined to a specific location, but the action unfolds worldwide in North America, Eastern Europe, and China. Experience the most expansive Resident Evil game yet – horror across four distinct but interconnected campaigns:
  • Crossover Gameplay – Not only do individual stories intersect, but so does the action – At significant points where the story connects pairs of characters, a brand new Crossover mechanism allows up to four players to experience the horror together online.
  • Play Solo or Cooperatively – Resident Evil 6 offers cooperative play for one or two players, whether offline or online (however, Ada Wong's campaign is single-player only)
  • New Threats on the Rise – Face the consequences of the C-virus in all its diverse and deadly forms, including zombies, J'avo, Chrysalids, and many more. Agent Hunt Mode – In this entirely new online mode for the Resident Evil series, experience the action from the other side. As a 'hunter', join the enemy side and become one of the game's zombies, J'avo mutations, or other C-virus creatures, infiltrating other active game sessions to eliminate human characters.
  • Play Your Way – Upgrade your character using skill points to gain higher reload speed, improved firepower, or increase your health bar with the Character Skill system.
  • Revamped Control System – Resident Evil 6 features an evolved control system allowing players to shoot while moving; slide; roll in any direction and take cover, along with the addition of an enhanced melee attack.
  • Mercenaries Return – Players will once again be able to enjoy the highly popular Mercenaries mode.
  • Localised Voice Recording – Resident Evil 6 will feature fully localised voice recording in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian, as well as subtitles in Japanese, Russian, Polish, Brazilian, and Portuguese.
