Los Sueños – The Los Sueños Police report a massive increase in violent crime in the wider Los Sueños area. Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) units have been dispatched to respond to various locations involving high-risk situations with hostages, active bomb threats, barricaded suspects, and other criminal activities. Citizens are advised to exercise caution when travelling around the city or to stay at home.
It has been found that although Los Sueños is still perceived as a city where wealth can be found, for many others, the better things in life are increasingly out of reach. “The city is expanding with cramped high-rise apartments and dilapidated affordable housing, which the criminal underground exploits like a malicious parasite,” states Chief Galo Álvarez. “In a city where people are just trying to survive, the lawful actions of the LSPD and the LSPD tactical units remain an integral force preventing the fragile social structure in this city from collapsing under this chaotic pressure.”
In response to the rising wave of violent crime flooding Los Sueños, Chief Álvarez of the Los Sueños Police Department (LSPD) has secured the support of David “Judge” Beaumont as the commander of the SWAT unit. Shortly after this announcement, the LSPD also confirmed the active recruitment of more talented individuals into this specialised tactical police unit with the mission of restoring peace to the city.
“This task is not for the faint-hearted,” comments Commander Beaumont, “extremists, corrupt politicians, countless weapons, human trafficking, and illegal drugs and pornography… the world of policing in Los Sueños is filled with real and harsh realities, realities that the average person may not necessarily encounter. These are the realities that you and your team will have to navigate within the bounds of the law, or else you will face consequences and make the situation worse.”
The Los Sueños Police Department has officially released new details regarding the updated assignment of Commander “Judge” Beaumont to the LSPD tactical unit:
New Expectations: Whether you are in Los Sueños for the first time or not, the city has changed, and so have the tools and methods with which we conduct our work. The haunted places you may have seen or heard about have been newly understood, as have the perspectives with which we approach each call. Furthermore, we have received reports identifying at least 4 new high-risk police districts that we believe may require tactical intervention in the future, and at least 4 existing high-risk districts that have undergone massive upheaval.
Taking Command: The role of the LSPD SWAT unit commander is to assemble their team from a large number of soldiers with unique talents, issue tactical orders, carefully plan, and execute missions. Commanders are required to carry out each mission with integrity and care for the mental and physical health of their team. Officers with unresolved deteriorating mental states may not be able to perform their duties properly or may even feel compelled to leave the force. Incapacitated officers may be temporarily unavailable for missions with a tragic outlook of death leading to permanent loss. For SWAT unit commanders in unusual situations based on individual decisions they choose, fatal mistakes can lead to their own permanent death.
Improving SWAT Team Quality: The long-awaited enhancement of training procedures, tactics, and experiences of the SWAT team in the LSPD has led to an overall increase in quality and quantity of officers in our team. Expanded tactical versatility allows our officers to take on any challenge with renewed confidence and seamlessly combine coordination and independence. SWAT members now also have access to additional basic training that enables them to maintain their foundational knowledge and muscle memory in perfect condition.
Equipment and Modifications: We have access to the best weapons and equipment that the LSPD can offer to fulfil our exceptionally dangerous role, including many new acquisitions. However, modifications are not limited to the equipment we use. Through close cohesion and performing remarkable feats alongside the team, you will earn the clothing you wear, patches on your sleeves, graphics that may adorn your skin, and potentially even wristwatches. Finally, we have revamped the training facilities at our headquarters to better test our gear before we head out on duty.
