You are Ting, a young girl who can see the ghosts around her. You will form a remarkable friendship with a young ghost named Xiu, who is seeking peace. Together, you will face challenges from both the real and spiritual worlds, fighting for your mind and morals while discovering whether this power is a gift or a curse.
Her Journey
During five key years of Ting's childhood, you will discover how her supernatural abilities set her apart from her peers. Can you cope with this power? Can you help your family, friends, and lost souls along your journey? Competing spirits will vie for Ting's assistance and will guide and tempt you along the way, while pursuing their own conflicting goals.
Her Fate
To unravel the mystery at the core of her emotional journey, Ting will need to lead challenging conversations, rescue lost souls, solve engaging puzzles, and subtly avoid dark spirits and other threats. Ting will also have to contend with her own family, which is on the brink of collapse... where she might find her only salvation.
A Beautiful Cultural Adventure
Third Eye Open is presented in a stunning, vibrant “paper theatre” style, inspired by Joss-Papercraft from Southeast Asia. From activities and locations to characters and dialogues, the story is infused with Malaysian tradition, culture, and folklore. You will visit morning markets, befriend an elderly monk, enjoy Lok Lok and Nyonya Kuih at the night market, avoid wandering spirits of the forest, and much more.
Third Eye Open is the latest installment in the award-winning Paper Ghost Stories series, which began with the short game “7PM”. These spooky tales are inspired by Malaysian and Chinese myths and culture.
