Monstrum takes the traditional recipe of survival horror and completely remixes it with procedurally generated levels, permanent death, and AI-controlled predators, ensuring that there is no truly safe place on its abandoned cargo ship.

Monstrum, a challenge even for the toughest players, will force you to use your wits and all available tools to escape or outsmart your pursuer. Try to escape from an environment that is trying to kill you while avoiding the lurking terror that may be hiding around every corner. Can you survive Monstrum?

Features

  • Three Unique Monsters
    Face one of three types of monsters in each playthrough, each with different behaviours and tactics. Can you escape the trap or evade a direct attack? And will the same actions work every time?
  • Procedural Arena
    Prepare for a different gaming environment each time, as the interior of the ship changes shape with each playthrough and alters the placement of items along the way.
  • Escape Routes
    Discover various ways to escape and delve into the bowels of the ship to find the items needed for its repair.
  • Opportunities and Dangers
    Use anything you find to try to outsmart the monster. Hide in cupboards or under furniture. Use distractions to lure the monster towards you, or perhaps more wisely, to a place where you just were, but be careful not to run too fast and fall into one of the many traps on the ship along the way.
  • Permanent Death
    Death is death. Kill yourself in Monstrum and you will have to start over. On a different ship, likely against a different monster. Good luck. Start running.
