LEGO® The Lord of the Rings, based on the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings, follows the original storylines of the films The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, guiding players through epic narrative events that are newly portrayed with humour and endless variety of LEGO gameplay elements.

Frodo, entrusted with the dangerous task of destroying the ancient magical ring that threatens all that is good, is forced to leave his peaceful home. However, the ring wants to be found, and the journey to Mount Doom, the only place it can be destroyed, will be perilous and filled with goblins and even more hideous creatures. To aid Frodo, the Fellowship is formed – Aragorn, wizard Gandalf, elf Legolas, dwarf Gimli, Boromir, a man from Gondor, and Frodo's hobbit friends Sam, Merry, and Pippin. Players relive the legend through LEGO minifigures, exploring wonders, solving timeless puzzles, and overcoming endless enemies in their quest to destroy the Ring.
