This enhanced Ultra filter represents the highest level of filtration suitable for closed Bambu Lab X1C, X1, and P1S 3D printers. Thanks to the combination of a HEPA 13 layer and a specially developed activated carbon layer, it effectively captures 99.95% of nanoparticles, toxic aerosols, and chemical vapours produced during printing. The filter is designed as a direct replacement for the original carbon filter – simply pull it out using the orange tab and replace it with a new one. Compared to standard carbon filters, this model offers significantly higher efficiency, longer lifespan, and markedly better protection against harmful substances such as VOCs (volatile organic compounds), formaldehyde, or ultrafine particles PM2.5 and UFP.
All tests indicate that the Ultra filter can reduce levels of formaldehyde, VOCs, and dust particles by up to 247% more than standard filters. Measurement protocols confirm a dramatic difference: without the Ultra filter, formaldehyde concentrations were around 1.732 mg/m³ and VOCs at 2.629 mg/m³, while with the Ultra filter, values dropped to 0.082 mg/m³ and 0.098 mg/m³. Particles PM2.5 also significantly decreased from 49 µg/m³ to just 6 µg/m³. These results clearly demonstrate that the filter can effectively eliminate toxic nanoparticles released especially during the printing of ABS, PETG, and PA. Visually, the gradual saturation can be observed by the darkening of the filter section – this is a common phenomenon caused by the absorption of harmful substances.
The filter layers have been designed to provide maximum efficiency even during prolonged use. The HEPA 13 layer captures nanoparticles of size PM2.5 and UFP, while the activated carbon with dense pores removes odours, vapours, and toxic substances. Compared to standard filters with a loose carbon structure, the Ultra filter offers much higher adsorption capacity and stable performance. As a result, it has a lifespan of approximately four months when printing with PLA and PC materials, while for materials with higher emissions, such as ABS or PETG, replacement is recommended every two months. Installation is extremely simple and requires no tools – just open the rear cover, pull out the old filter using the tab, and insert the new one.
