Sid is a writer struggling with writer's block and trying to recapture the feelings of inspiration he had when he was younger. To pay the bills, he needs to come up with a story and apply for a grant – the deadline is today – a lazy Sunday in the middle of summer.

This Sunday, his struggle is interrupted by an invitation to an inevitable family obligation – the place where Sid grew up is about to be sold, and his mother wants him to return home for a small gathering to say goodbye. With the deadline approaching and his creative juices frozen, it’s not something he looks forward to.
