Protect and lead your small group of settlers to create a town from the untamed wilderness at the edge of the known world. Gather resources, hunt, fish, and farm to sustain your advancing town. Craft items that villagers can trade, consume, equip, and fight with, while battling for survival against the elements and external threats (a pacifist mode is available for players who do not wish to engage in combat).

  • Harvesting, Farming, Crafting – harvest 14 different resources from wood, stone, and clay to metal ores, wild herbs, and honey. Grow 17 types of food, including fodder, fish, and game, plus 10 food crops, each with different properties. Produce 32 crafted items and materials in a multi-tiered economy.
  • Build and Progress - Build 50 different types of buildings as you expand your town from a fledgling settlement to a bustling city. The centre of your town and housing will expand through several levels of buildings as the prosperity and desirability of your town increase.   • The Most Detailed Farming System Ever – Strategically choose from 10 crops with unique growing characteristics and configure crop rotation to maintain soil fertility, prevent heat and frost damage, and avoid the accumulation of diseases. Over time, cultivate your fields, removing weeds and stones, enhancing fertility, and adjusting soil mixtures to achieve maximum crop yields to sustain a thriving growing population.
  • Advanced Town Simulation - Villagers actively live their lives and perform their jobs in real-time. Watch as villagers transport goods across the town from distant workplaces to be processed into materials and crafted into items. Observe food and goods delivered to homes, to the marketplace, or stored for later use. Develop roads, transport wagons, and improve storage methods to facilitate the efficient movement of goods in your town and prevent spoilage.
  • Randomly Generated Maps - Farthest Frontier is highly replayable, and no game is ever the same with beautiful, entirely random terrain generation and resource distribution. Controls allow players to dictate the amount of water or mountains they want, with extreme maps leading to unique challenges.
  • Idyllic to Brutal – Customisable difficulty options allow players to turn off features such as invaders and diseases for a calmer experience or ramp up the difficulty to truly test their city-building skills.
  • Environmental Interactions – Develop your economy based on which resources are locally abundant, and craft items for trade to acquire what you lack. Build fences to keep deer away from crop fields and prevent bears from raiding the food store. Manage tree cover to prevent the depletion of underground water supplies. Balance the need to clear land for agriculture around vital natural resources, such as wild medicinal herbs and fodder.
  • All The Old-Timey Diseases! - Ensure your villagers have clean water to stop outbreaks of dysentery and cholera. Gather berries and leafy greens to avoid scurvy and ensure proper nutrition. Make sure villagers are properly shod and clothed to reduce the risk of tetanus, rabies, or frostbite. Build a healer's house to quarantine the infected and provide herbs and medicines for treatment. Control rodent populations by collecting waste, safely storing food, and using rat traps to avert the dreaded plague.
  • Fend Off Want-Be Invaders – Choose whether to play as a pacifist and completely avoid combat, or engage in various levels of raider difficulty to raise the stakes for your town's survival. Progress from wooden palisades to stone walls, build towers and barracks, recruit and equip soldiers to defend your town as growing prosperity attracts the attention of raiders and foreign armies seeking loot.
