Far Cry Primal takes you back to the Stone Age, when humans were certainly not at the top of the food chain. Danger lurked around every corner during the day and night brought a new set of horrors. It is in the untamed land of Oros that you meet Takkar, the sole survivor of his hunting party's ambush. Now, Takkar will face enormous mammoths, wild sabretooth tigers, hostile groups of rival hunters, and countless other threats as he tries to reunite his lost tribe.
Like any proper hunter, Takkar has an extensive set of survival skills, including the ability to craft tools and weapons from the bones of the animals he kills, and the resources he gathers in the wild. These are crucial not only for his own safety against predators (both human and animal) but are also essential for maintaining the safety of his tribe. Takkar will need to carefully guard his young group to ensure its survival and growth.
Like every Far Cry before it, Far Cry Primal is set in a massive open world, and Takkar's adventure will take him through a variety of landscapes, from swamps to cedar forests, and when night falls in Oros, fire may be the only thing standing between Takkar and particularly sharp teeth or a jagged spear tip. The use of fire is perhaps as important, if not more so, than the weapons Takkar crafts. In addition to using it for protection at night, he can use it for further tactical options when attacking beasts or infiltrating enemy bases.
