Factorio is a game in which you build and maintain factories. You will mine resources, research technologies, build infrastructure, automate production, and fight enemies. At the beginning, you will chop down trees, mine ores, and manually craft mechanical arms and conveyor belts, but in a short time, you can become an industrial powerhouse with massive solar fields, oil refining and cracking, manufacturing and deploying construction and logistic robots, all for your resource needs. However, this heavy resource use of the planet is not liked by the local inhabitants, so you will need to be prepared to defend yourself and your mechanical empire.
Join forces with other players in cooperative multiplayer, create massive factories, collaborate, and delegate tasks among yourself and your friends. Add mods for more fun, from small enhancements and helper mods to complete overhauls of the game, Factorio's support for modding from the ground up has allowed content creators from around the world to design interesting and innovative features.
Although the core gameplay takes place in the form of freeplay scenarios, there are a number of interesting challenges in the form of the Scenario Pack, which is available as free DLC. If you cannot find any maps or scenarios that you like, you can create your own using the in-game map editor, placing entities, enemies, and terrain in any way you like, and even add your own scenario to make the game interesting.
