2022 of our era. The sequel to "EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5" depicts the battle between the EDF and alien life forms that suddenly attacked Earth. Players take on the role of an EDF soldier in this third-person shooter, where they must destroy vast numbers of gigantic enemies.

The year is 2024 of our era. Humanity has won a long battle against unknown invaders. The hostile Primers are now gone, and peace has returned to Mother Earth. However, the population has dwindled to 10%, and the world is on the brink of collapse. Survivors fought against the remaining threats and endeavoured to continue their recovery. In 2027, three years have passed. In a new world devoid of hope, it is time to once again defy the fate of Earth.
