Broken Arrow is an expansive game about modern tactical warfare in real-time. The base game includes both American and Russian factions, each containing 5 unique sub-factions, such as Marine Corps, Armoured Army, Airborne Army, and more.
Broken Arrow takes the genre to a whole new level by combining the complexity of a war game with cooperative forces and typical real-time action gameplay.
Deploy on the battlefield by land, sea, and air. Use airborne troops and helicopters to quickly seize key locations, back them up with heavy tanks, and disrupt enemy counterattacks with artillery and tactical missile strikes.
Infiltrate special forces behind enemy lines, disrupt enemy logistics, and secure laser targeting for your aircraft. Use the terrain to your advantage to ambush, outsmart, and outmaneuver the enemy.
Deploy your amphibious units in large industrial ports, drop soldiers and vehicles from landings to capture airports and air bases, fight amidst a large refinery or throughout cities filled with large apartment blocks, shopping centres, and skyscrapers.
The vast battlefields of Broken Arrow are based on real locations to enhance their realism.
The game features over 300 units, each of which can be customised in various ways, leading to more than 1500 combinations.
Modern vehicles and aircraft are generally compatible with various weapon and armour packages; Broken Arrow offers a detailed modification system that allows you to customise specific components of your units.
Customise your helicopters and aircraft by selecting the missiles, bombs, or rockets they carry, adding fuel tanks, marking containers, countermeasures, etc.
Add armour or active protection systems to your tanks and upgrade their weapons and sensors.
You can choose the type of ammunition your artillery uses, including explosives, submunitions, smoke, incendiary, thermobaric, laser-guided, and more.
A portion of the battle can be won through good planning: create a combination of units and weapons that suits your playstyle to surprise and defeat the enemy.
The number of options is vast, resulting in each battle being different from the last.
Broken Arrow offers a wide array of units divided into six categories:
RECON UNITS: vehicles, drones, and sniper teams specialised in the task of detecting and marking enemy positions.
INFANTRY: Infantry is equipped with rifles, machine guns, rocket launchers, and grenade launchers, as well as anti-tank and anti-air missiles. They capture buildings to gain stealth and protection.
BATTLE VEHICLES: includes tanks, anti-air missile carriers, and fire support vehicles.
SUPPORT: includes artillery and anti-air vehicles that provide long-range support on the battlefield, as well as trucks transporting ammunition, repairs, and medical supplies.
HELICOPTERS: great for "hit and run" tactics using a wide range of missiles, guns, and guided missiles. They can also transport infantry and vehicles and supplies across the battlefield.
PLANES: Control them on the battlefield and intercept enemy aircraft or support your ground units with bombs, missiles, and guided projectiles. Cargo planes can also drop infantry, vehicles, and supplies.
The scenario editor used to create campaign missions will be available to the community for creating their own scenarios and sharing them on Steam Workshop.
It includes a visual scripting tool that allows you to create complete scenarios with cutscenes and dialogue without having to write a single line of code.
