Barotrauma is a 2D submarine simulator focused on cooperation and survival, inspired by games such as FTL: Faster Than Light, Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, and Space Station 13. It is a sci-fi game combining ragdoll physics, deep-sea alien creatures, teamwork, and existential dread.
MASTER THE DEPTHS in the not-too-distant future, humanity has fled to Jupiter's moon. Due to the irradiated icy surface, life can only be found in the depths of the ocean. Travel through the dark underwater world and discover what lies hidden in the depths of Europa. Beware: dangers in Barotrauma come unexpectedly.
HELP YOUR CREW SURVIVE, OR MAKE SURE NO ONE DOES
You can enjoy Barotrauma in as many ways as there are ways to die in it. Collaborate with your crew to achieve objectives or – if you have a traitor on board – prepare for betrayal. Play with friends, strangers, or your worst enemies.
EXPLORE, OPERATE, COMMUNICATE
Navigate the underwater world, complete missions for the last survivors of humanity, explore the ruins of an unknown civilization, and either flee from or fight monsters. Control complex onboard systems and equipment such as sonar, nuclear reactors, weapons, engines, and pumps. Communication is key!
