You are the local governor – a leader appointed by the Scorched Queen to reclaim the wilderness and uncover lost treasures for the Smouldering City, the last bastion of civilisation against the Blightstorm that has ravaged the old world. Unlike most survival city builders, where you focus on a single city, in Against the Storm you must build an extensive, thriving network of settlements inhabited by various fantasy races, each with their own specialisations and needs.

But the wilderness hides many hidden dangers, and the never-ending storms will batter your population into submission. If your settlements fall, the expedition may end – but not the game. Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder, meaning you will carry over resources, upgrades, and experiences from your past expeditions each time you embark on a new journey into the wilderness.

Leverage the strengths of each group and balance various needs, from housing and culinary preferences to luxury and recreation.     With hundreds of game modifiers and 5 distinct biomes, each city presents unique challenges even for the most resourceful governor. Adapt your strategy to changing weather conditions and experiment with "buildings" of settlements – lists of blueprints and benefits that can help your society thrive or bring it to ruins. Mix and match ingredients to make the most of available resources. You never know what goods the Merchant will bring next year, and the forest hides treasures, resources... and ancient threats.

    Laying the foundations for a new city is one of the most exciting moments in a city-building game. In Against the Storm, you will have the opportunity to repeatedly create new settlements while still interacting and trading with previously established cities in a growing world.
